Goals of Circle International
To ensure that your support has the greatest impact on communities around the world—whether it’s saving lives in an emergency, fighting poverty or achieving social justice—our work follows six main approaches:
- Providing Psycho-Social Support: Our primary goal is to provide psycho-social support to individuals and groups in need, particularly those who have fled war and prosecution. We will focus on women, girls and children households and extend available and possible support to empower them to rebuild their lives.
- Skills Training and Employment: We aim to extend support to the most vulnerable segments of society by linking them with service providers, employers, and institutions that provide skills training and education. We will design innovative techniques to improve self-employment through modern entrepreneurship opportunities, with a particular focus on women and girls.
- Social Assistance and Resettlement Support: We will establish new newcomers’ centers across Canada to provide social assistance, social protection, and resettlement support. We will work with immigrants and refugees to resolve their issues on a case-by-case basis, making access to services easy and utilizing modern technologies.
- Engaging Communities: We will engage communities through group discussions, corner meetings, plays, and exhibitions to promote diversity, inclusion, and interfaith harmony. We will prioritize gender equality and equity at all levels of our interventions.
- Combatting Human Trafficking: We will provide psycho-social assistance and counseling, referral to essential services, shelter, and food to victims of human trafficking, particularly women and girls who have been brought to different countries through illegal means. We will also plan awareness and advocacy initiatives to develop, strengthen, and improve the system to combat illegal trafficking globally.
